Self-Acceptance Creates Authenticity

We’ve all seen people who are confident in who they are, vulnerable, speak their truth, and go through life courageously. It’s easy to think they are called, chosen even to live such a robust life. The truth is, they’ve worked for it and not just by climbing up the ladder of success. They’ve done the inner work if they’re truly living an authentic life. Self-acceptance […]

Don’t Stunt Your Growth!

I have to admit there was a vast portion of my life where I tried to avoid challenge. I was a perfectionist and wanted to be good at everything I did. I saw weakness when I was challenged and would try to avoid it at all costs. Continue reading “Don’t Stunt Your Growth!”

A Piece of Me

It’s funny, as I opened my blog on a tab to start this draft, I wasn’t sure what I was going to write about. I noticed how much I loved the header images on the last three posts that were on my screen. I couldn’t help but smile and think how far I’ve come. Then I thought that maybe I should go back and update the images on my older posts. How in the world did I think those looked good? Continue reading “A Piece of Me”

Set Your August Intentions

As we’re about to step into a new month, it’s a great time for reflection. A time to evaluate the past month and what’s worked well for you, what you want to continue, and what you want to stop. This is a great way to keep your intention fresh in your mind and be open to ways to make it come to fruition. Continue reading “Set Your August Intentions”

Speak Up!

A friend of mine is hosting an event called Speak Up. It’s an intimate forum she hosts once a month where she opens up the discussion with a thought-provoking question. She emailed me the question about a week ago to ponder. The event is tonight (in fact, I’m here now!) and although you can’t attend live in person, I thought I’d extend a virtual invitation. Continue reading “Speak Up!”

Attack Success

Today’s post is inspired by a fortune cookie my daughter opened for me over the weekend. I’d gone from feeling very empowered after a meeting with a writing mentor to feeling a little discouraged on my business front. Continue reading “Attack Success”

Results Outweigh Discomfort

For the past year, I’ve been intentionally pushing myself beyond my comfort zone. I’ve been taking steps to turn my dreams into reality, building my business in a way that’s not conventional yet fits into my life and vision perfectly, and taking opportunities that make me nervous. Many times throughout the year, I’ve faced situations that made me feel uncomfortable; not only because I was taking chances. I was also in situations that challenged me to use my voice in a way I wasn’t used to.  Continue reading “Results Outweigh Discomfort”

Facing Fear & Understanding Failure

One thing I’ve learned during this commitment to self-discovery is how important it is to face your fear. I started to challenge myself to no longer be complacent. I couldn’t get to where I wanted if I stayed inside my comfort zone. I began to realize I had sold myself a story that I was afraid to do things because I didn’t want to fail, be rejected, or criticized. Continue reading “Facing Fear & Understanding Failure”
