I grew up in a military family moving from place to place roughly every 4 years. That was my sense of normal and as I grew up, I found myself wanting to move regularly. I thought it was because moving was my sense of normal but recently I realized I don’t have that impulse to move. You see before, I was moving as a way of running. Running away from myself and hoping happiness would find me at my next destination. It worked a little bit because of course there was always the excitement of something new. Yet once that novelty wore off, I caught up with myself. Continue reading “Face Yourself”→
I found a talk to share for today’s post. I really enjoyed this but just wanted to advise that if you watch, please watch it to the end. The speaker makes some really great points even though he isn’t a “real doctor”. The point that I identified with the most was rumination. One of the most unhealthy habits I had was not only constantly complaining but not being able to let go of things that happened. It greatly contributed to fueling the negative mindset I had. I pose this question to you today, “does your life look the way you want it to?”. Before you answer, I want you to take a moment to think about not just what you have or where you are, but how it feels. I’m not asking if you have the house or car of your dreams. I’m not asking if you are earning the amount you believe you deserve. I’m curious to know if the life you live is the life you want to continue to build? Do you feel joyful, fulfilled, and excited to start each day? […]
Doing something a little different this week… Let’s see what you guys think of it! It might work, it might not but I won’t know unless I give it a try! Let me know your thoughts on this week’s words of motivation. Sending you lots of love!
Learning to cultivate the relationship with myself was one of the biggest steps I took after overcoming depression. It was like reacquainting yourself with someone you hadn’t seen in ages, except that someone was myself! Aside from battling depression, I spent so much time juggling the different roles in my life (mom, wife, working outside of the home, daughter, friend, volunteer, etc.) that I didn’t know where the roles ended and I began. Over time, I lost my sense of self. […]
Here’s this week’s message to open your consciousness and draw your awareness to something you might need to be mindful of. Energy is contagious, do you surround yourself with people whose energy is on the same wavelength as yours? This goes for online in addition to in-person. Continue reading “The Energy You Surround Yourself With!”→
After opening up to you on Monday about cultivating a warrior’s mindset, I went in search of something to share with you today. I found this Tedx Talk absolutely fascinating on so many levels! I’d love to hear your thoughts after you’ve had a chance to watch this. If you can’t watch it right now, bookmark it because you’re going to want to come back to it! This demonstrates how powerful our mindset is in determining the results in our lives! Continue reading “Change Your Mindset, Change the Game!”→
In this post, I’m sharing where perfectionism stemmed from for me and how I unexpectedly released it! Any perfectionists in the house? Don’t worry, I won’t ask you to say I!
I was a perfectionist for as long as I can remember. Wanting to do things just right, getting them right on the first try, and having high expectations of myself. You couldn’t please me because if things weren’t done the way I’d do them, they just weren’t right. The funny thing is, although I was […]
As someone who fought a long battle with depression for the majority of their life, I’d have to say one of the most important steps I’ve taken is cultivating a warrior’s mindset. A mindset that isn’t just positive but Continue reading “Do You Have A Warrior’s Mindset?”→
Today’s post might be a tough pill to swallow but it’s been the truth in my experience. I used to be someone whose excuses tainted my perspective. I was so caught up in the day to day that I not only lost sight of my dream but stopped dreaming. Continue reading “What’s Greater in Your Life?”→
