Progress Over Perfection

In this post, I’m sharing where perfectionism stemmed from for me and how I unexpectedly released it! Any perfectionists in the house? Don’t worry, I won’t ask you to say I!

I was a perfectionist for as long as I can remember. Wanting to do things just right, getting them right on the first try, and having high expectations of myself. You couldn’t please me because if things weren’t done the way I’d do them, they just weren’t right. The funny thing is, although I was […]

Checking in to see what’s come up for you since the post was published on size determining your worth.

I just wanted to check in with you and see how you’re feeling since the last post on size not determining your self-worth. I encourage you to continue to focus on your inner beauty. While a lot of emphases is placed on physical beauty by society and ourselves, the true measure of beauty is in […]

Does Your Size Make You Any Less Deserving of Love?

If you know me, you know I’m not a shopper to begin with. Boy did I get more than I bargained for with this recent trip to the mall!

Something interesting happened recently during a trip to the mall with my daughters. I was in search of a few new shirts and my personal stylist (aka 9-year-old daughter) said she knew just the store! She knows my style and picked out some perfect pieces! I told her my size and taught her a trick. It’s […]

Happy Sunday! It feels like it’s been ages since I’ve caught up with everyone! I’ve had some pretty amazing things going on over the past couple of months. I mentioned that I took a step back from blogging to enjoy the summer with my girls. We had such a great summer full of memories we’ll look back on and laugh at for years to come. I just wanted to let you know that you’ve likely noticed some changes around here and there’s a few more to come. Continue reading “Back from Break, Changes &Checking In!”

If Only you’d Known…

Community question of the week!

Soulful Sunday (4)

What did you wish you knew when you first started blogging? Maybe you’ve been blogging for a while and it’s something that would have saved you time in the beginning. Maybe you’re just starting on your journey and it’s something you’re stuck on. Continue reading “If Only you’d Known…”

Inspiration Over Imitation

pexels-photo (1)

Contrary to the old adage, I believe that inspiration is the sincerest form of flattery. You see as creatives, there’s a piece of our heart and soul in everything we do. The words we write, the moments we capture on camera, the colors we to put to paper, the content we put out. All of it has pieces of who we are in it. It’s for that reason that imitation feels cheap to me. How can one see the final product of another, and copy it? It will never be the same because the original work had the heart and soul of the creator in it. The copied work was either admired or envied.

What Would You Change?

This video was shared by a friend on social media and it really spoke to me. Before you watch it, I want you to write down one thing you would change about your body. Continue reading “What Would You Change?”

The Grind, Seeds, & Patience

This goes out to all of you who need a gentle reminder that results aren’t always instant. In a world of instant gratification, it can be hard to grind every day and not see the results. Just because you don’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not happening. The process reminds me of plants. When my daughter was in 1st grade, we did a project where we planted seeds inside ziplock bags and watched them grow. Had we planted them outside, we wouldn’t have been able to see all that was going on! Continue reading “The Grind, Seeds, & Patience”
