Set Your August Intentions

As we’re about to step into a new month, it’s a great time for reflection. A time to evaluate the past month and what’s worked well for you, what you want to continue, and what you want to stop. This is a great way to keep your intention fresh in your mind and be open to ways to make it come to fruition. Continue reading “Set Your August Intentions”

Consistency Yields Results!

Happy Monday everyone! I hate to sound like a broken record, I know I recently shared a similar message but I have a feeling someone needs to be reminded of this today. In a world of instant gratification and instant results, it’s easy to feel like we’re failing or lacking in some way when things don’t come together as quickly as we’d like or on the first time around.  Continue reading “Consistency Yields Results!”

The Grind, Seeds, & Patience

This goes out to all of you who need a gentle reminder that results aren’t always instant. In a world of instant gratification, it can be hard to grind every day and not see the results. Just because you don’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not happening. The process reminds me of plants. When my daughter was in 1st grade, we did a project where we planted seeds inside ziplock bags and watched them grow. Had we planted them outside, we wouldn’t have been able to see all that was going on! Continue reading “The Grind, Seeds, & Patience”

Stepping Your Way to Success!

As an entrepreneur, I have to say the road can be tough, especially when you’re starting out. I’m building my second business from the ground up and it takes a lot of time, energy, and consistency. Sometimes it seems like things are going nowhere like I’m giving my all and have nothing to show for it. Looking from the outside in, it very well may seem like there’s not a lot going on. You might just see a room full of ideas, a person full of ambition and passion, and the makings of something big that just hasn’t taken off yet.  Continue reading “Stepping Your Way to Success!”

Gifts, Heart-centered Work & Happiness

The great thing about being an entrepreneur is that I can make my business look the way I want. It doesn’t have to fit in any box or meet standards I’m not in alignment with. One thing that surprised me as a heart-centered entrepreneur is the sense of conflict I felt in the beginning. When I transitioned from the corporate world to creating a business I loved, I had a different perspective about work. Continue reading “Gifts, Heart-centered Work & Happiness”

Week 3 (and 4)

I’ve been involved in so many projects lately I forgot to publish the post I started with last week’s kindness prompts! I’m not going to sweat it and just share it now along with prompts for this week. I’ve told the neighborhood kids about this and they were excited to join me and my girls in our endeavor to bring kindness into the lives of those we come in contact with. Continue reading “Week 3 (and 4)”

Small Steps->Big Things!

I’m not going to lie, I’m beyond excited! As you might know, I’ve been reaching out to local photographers to see if I can land an opportunity as an assistant or second shooter. As a beginner, the only thing I have going for me is that I’m bilingual so I try to wedge my foot in the door with that. I’ve asked several photographers and have received a gentle no from one, great advice from another, and no response from the rest. Continue reading “Small Steps->Big Things!”

Comfort, Creativity & Courage

This year marks the third year that I walked away from corporate America. I’d spent my whole adult life up to that point bouncing between companies every three years on a quest to find the perfect fit. At the end of 2013, I decided to quit doing that. I had been at that job for three and a half years and I knew it was time for me to find something new. After some heavy consideration, I decided to leave my comfortable yet constricting job in the corporate world. Continue reading “Comfort, Creativity & Courage”

Are you at bat or benched?

I love this quote! I’d adapt it to say “never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game” because Continue reading “Are you at bat or benched?”
