Reality is a matter of perception. They say there are two sides to every story; that’s because although the facts remain the same the way they are experienced is a matter of perspective. Two people can be in the same situation and experience it differently. Two people can be presented with the same situation and respond to it differently. Just when I was about to give up on including a video for this post, I came across exactly what I was looking for!

I was having a conversation with a friend this week and mentioned a blog post in which I talked about being the manager of our compartments. Basically, I was trying to say that in a relationship, we can’t look for our partner to fill us up in part or in whole. We have to learn that we are the supervisors of the inventory of the compartments that represent the various aspects of our life. By looking at it in this way, we are able to realize the role we play in our life.
I’m feeling a little nostalgic today and decided to include my first guest post as it’s in line with Tuesday’s topic of teachable moments in my life. Daniel was kind enough to reach out to me earlier this year just a couple of months into my blogging journey to ask me to guest post for his blog. He opened the topic to anything of my choosing and this is where my writing took me.
Comparison is a dangerous game to play. These days with social media giving you a glimpse into everyone’s lives and phones with cameras so good some people don’t even own cameras anymore you might be lead to believe that everyone is living a perfect life.
