Sharing this beautiful flower I saw with you so it can help brighten your day ❤
No matter what you’re going through, there’s always something to be thankful for. If you’re going through a rough time, it can be easy to lose sight of the things that you have to be grateful for. I want to encourage you to look for something anyway. When you least feel like it is when you should do it most. If you have a hard time thinking of something or find yourself resisting it all together, start small.
It’s not what you’re grateful for, it’s the practice of being grateful that makes the difference. It causes a shift in our perspective and even if it’s just for a moment, you can’t help but feel different when you’re thinking of something you’re grateful for. Thoughts and feelings are connected so you can’t be actively thinking of something you’re grateful for and feel the contrary. If it’s a passing thought, it will be a passing feeling. So I encourage you to sit with that thought for a moment.
Think of something you’re grateful for and the reasons why. Maybe it’s for the nice soft mattress topper you have that makes your bed feel like you’re melting into the clouds when you lay on it. Maybe it’s for the last meal that you had because it was tasty, or you made it with love, or you received great service where you had it. Maybe it’s the insoles you have in your shoes that provide you the support you need to reduce pain. Maybe it’s the sunshine that you’re able to enjoy during your lunch break. Whatever it is, there’s always something to be grateful for if we’re open to looking for it.
Today, I’m grateful for perfect timing. I’ve found that things have a way of working out better than I plan them. So instead of being a stickler for details, I like to set intentions and be open to ways of them coming to fruition. This usually allows me to see opportunities I would have missed if I was too tied to things working out a certain way. It also inspires me to be creative and come up with ideas I might not have otherwise. It’s an approach that greatly eliminates stress and empowers me to enjoy life in a way I couldn’t before.
If you are interested in making gratitude a bigger part of your life, I encourage you to check out my book. I have a chapter dedicated to gratitude and share the impact practicing it had on my life. It’s one of the nine things I did to change my perspective and start living a more positive life.
Sending you lots of love!
In the comments, share what you’re most grateful for today. Nothing is too small to mention! You never know who you can encourage to find the small things in their life to be grateful for. ❤
