Summer brings sweet treats! Not just peaches and ice cream but moments that turn into memories! Some of my fondest summer memories are of playing at the pool as a kid. My grandma would pack a wonderful lunch and snacks and we’d pile in the car to spend the day at the pool. I’d work up an appetite and look forward to eating what my grandma made but dread having to wait half an hour after eating to get back in the pool! As I got older, my brother and I would go to the pool with our friends. Radio songs would play loudly on the speaker system (the lyrics still play in my memory!). My grandma’s homemade meals were substituted for food at the concession stand. To this day, the smell of sunscreen takes me straight back to my childhood summers! I can’t help but smile every time I smell it! The smell of sweet tanning oil reminds me of my mom laying by the pool and soaking up the sun (something she’s since stopped doing!).
For throwback Thursday, share a sweet summer memory of yours in the comments! I can’t wait to hear what wonderful memories you share ❤
