I visit a number of blogs each week, many of whom like or comment on my posts. One thing I notice is the number of bloggers whose blogs aren’t linked to their username! If you’re on the WordPress platform, this is important because by simply clicking on your username, people can be redirected to your blog! If it’s not linked, you’re missing out on a visitor who could become a follower! To be sure that your blog is linked to your name, go to the notifications, and click on your name. If you only have one blog this shouldn’t be a problem. I find this usually happens when someone has started more than one blog. A lot of times, they delete their initial blog and forget to designate one of their currently active sites as the primary one. If clicking on your username doesn’t redirect you to your blog, follow the steps below.
Click on your Gravatar photo to be taken to the main page where you can edit your details.
Go to “Account Settings”. Here, you’ll be able to designate your primary site.
If you have more than one site, select the one you want to designate as the primary site where people will be taken when clicking on your username. Save your changes and now you’re all set!
If you have more than one active site, you can also control which sites are displayed. To check which sites are visible, click “My Profile” and scroll to the bottom of the screen. Simply click the “x” next to any site you don’t want to appear, and click “Add” to select sites you want to display. That’s all there is to it!
Did you realize that your blog wasn’t linked? Was this helpful in helping you link it? If you have any questions or would like to see tips or a tutorial on something in particular, let me know in the comments and I’ll see what I can do to help!
