You know the old saying “laughter is the best medicine”? I saw a meme today that reminded me of how important it is not just to laugh but to have people in your lives who help you laugh when it’s the hardest. When I was at the toughest point struggling with depression, I had no desire to laugh. I had a hard time finding reasons to laugh or being in the mood to do so. During my journey of depression recovery, I discovered the power of laughter. I go into it more in depth in my book but I experienced for myself how laughter has such an incredible impact on us. These days, I laugh often and on the odd day I’m too serious, my kids and husband ensure I don’t get through the day without laughing. Today I just wanted to encourage you to find ways to laugh especially when it’s hard or you don’t feel like it. In the comments, let us know what is a sure way to get a laugh out of you or who you can always count on for a good laugh!
Remember not to take yourself too seriously and that nothing is permanent; this too shall pass.
