Thank Goodness for the Goodness in the World!

Even as someone who hasn’t watched the news regularly in years, I can’t completely escape the constant stream of stories of the vile acts and horrendous things that go on in the world. The thing is, there’s plenty of good people doing good things in the world. If that weren’t the case, the world would be in an even worse state than it is. ThereΒ are plenty positive things don’t get nearly as much attention. Today I just wanted to share a few positive stories I’ve seen floating around. I think it’s important to be aware of the wonderful things people do for one another. The steady stream of negative stories in the news can give an inaccurate perception of the world at large. While I don’t deny atrocious things happen, I believe the good tends to go unnoticed or undervalued. In an effort to help spread the good news, here are some stories that might help you see that good things also happen every day.

This article shows the amazing way people in Manchester came together to help after the recent attack.Β

This article tells of a very special Girl Scout troop that will surely have a lasting impact on these members!

These baby elephants are being rescued thanks to a tribe in Kenya.

This article shares how kids are helping to fix issues in the world around them.

I hope you enjoy reading about just a few of the good things happening in the world. I want to invite you to notice the good things people do in your life, your community, and the world around you. The things we do matter, we can have a positive impact on the wold. The more people who focus on goodness, the greater the impact. ❀

What was your favorite story? Do you have any good news you’d like to share? Did you witness good news? Feel free to share in the comments!

    1. I don’t think it’s a matter of denying your thoughts or feelings Mary Lou. It’s important to embrace them and when you’re ready figure out what you can do about the situation. I can’t wait to read about this week πŸ’–

    1. That’s awesome! I agree! Of course there’s a need to be informed but the media has an unhealthy obsession with force feeding negativity. I stopped ingesting what they served years ago. I really have found that to help with depression. It was one less thing clouding my perspective.

      1. I completely agree. I have never been a regular news follower, but definitely got sucked in the last years. When I noticed how it made me anticipate more negative things all the time, while drowning out that there are good people in this world, I stopped watching. It has allowed me to re-open my eyes to the fact that there is so much good in this world as well. Thank you for sharing the good!

    1. I’m so glad to hear that! I thought mankind was hopeless for the years I watched the news. Now that I don’t, I realize that there’s plenty of goodness and people depend on it. I’m so glad we connected as wellπŸ’– I’m so glad to hear you include that in your books πŸ’–
