Community Question | Posting Schedule

I know there’s no shortage of expert advice out there for bloggers.Β One of the best pieces of advice I can give is to come up with a posting schedule. You want it to be something that works for you and something that you can deliver consistently. If you have one day to write, I suggest scheduling the posts for the week if it makes it easier than writing every day. Not only do you want to have fresh content on your blog regularly, but you want it to be quality content. I definitely advise against posting just to post. If you don’t have a quality piece to publish, pulling something from the archives to share again isn’t a bad idea. This way you can meet your blogging schedule and you give followers that missed it the first time and new readers alike the opportunity to read the post. Keep putting great content out on a regular basis and interact with those that visit and you’ll grow your readership!

What’s your posting schedule? Do you schedule your posts out? Did you find this helpful? Feel free to share in the comments!

  1. You know I’m an organization lady (or I try to be) and I would love, love, love to have and editorial calendar. I really think I’m going to try to start work on that. I needed a new project, thanks Niki…Love ya ❀

  2. Thanks for the validation. I make sure I write and post once a week but have back up plans just in case I can’t post that week. It just feels good to post something that is as good as you can make it. I do have a question about archive pieces. I’m only a few months in but know my earliest posts didn’t receive much attention. Can I repost from 4 months ago or should I wait a while? Love to hear thoughts. Thanks for the forum to chat…and ask…

    1. I’m glad you find it useful! Absolutely! When I first started last year I recycled posts about 6 months in because my blog had grown and there were simply readers that didn’t see it and the post had value. I say just reschedule the date and post the original post fresh. If the post link is shared somewhere and you don’t want broken links, reblog it on your own blog otherwise just publish it fresh πŸ’–

  3. I always ‘Gaurentee’ my audience a Monday post… Nobody holds me to it, and it’s clearly not set in stone, but it matters to me because it means I’m getting out that one post a week. From there, I’m more lax about my other posts (for better, or worse) as long as I have my Monday post out.

I actually take it a bit further and have a style of post for each day, Monday – Friday… But that would be one long winded comment, haha.

Definitely agree that scheduling is the way forward. I rest easier knowing I have something ready for the week ahead, and I can focus on extra work/posts if necessary.
