Encouraged, Empowered & Enlightened

As uncomfortable as I’ve felt at times on my journey of self-discovery, there’s no denying it’s also been incredibly empowering.  Those uncomfortable situations I’ve faced, have provided the environment I needed to grow. I used to run from situations that made me feel uncomfortable not realizing the discomfort was only temporary. Once I faced what made me uncomfortable and learned my lessons I’d begin a process of growth. A lot of times this process led to enlightenment.

The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers.

Today I just wanted to encourage you to stop avoiding the things that make you feel uncomfortable. Those very things can be setting you up to grow in ways you can’t imagine. If you go in with that perspective, you might be surprised by the incredible journey you’ll embark on.

What are your thoughts? Do you lean into the things that make you uncomfortable or avoid them? Do you think there’s a potential for growth by facing them? I’d love to hear what you think on this topic, feel free to share in the comments!

This is my entry for the A-Z Challenge I’m participating in. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a challenge where blogger’s post their way through the alphabet a letter each day through the month of April. For more details, visit the A-Z Challenge website or their WordPress site.

  1. It took me a really long time to find my feet outside my comfort zone, but once I did I found this whole new version of myself! This is really lovely, one of those little reminders most of us need. I didn’t realise how much I needed it today, thank you! X
