Fear, Double Dutch, & Greatness

niki-meadows-quotesThis is the essence of the motivation I was inspired to share with you today. You see so many times, we have big dreams inside of us; ones we’re brave enough to share and others that we keep to ourselves. I know what it’s like to tell myself I’ll move forward when I’m ready. The problem is, if I use that as my launch date, it might not ever happen. I might not ever be comfortable enough, prepared enough, I could go on for a while with this.

I’ve learned that I don’t have to wait until I’m perfect to take chances or seek opportunities, I just have to be willing. The reality is, there will always be more to learn, more to practice, more to do, more to have, etc. I choose instead to remember that I’m supported. All choices have lead me to where I am right now in this moment. I have all that I need to do things to the best of my ability right now. So instead of waiting for the fear to dissipate, instead of waiting until I’m prepared in every aspect of the word, and instead of waiting until I’m comfortable moving forward, I do it anyway. Not in a careless way but in a courageous I’m moving forward even though I’m nervous way.

I had some talks going on YouTube while I tended to my home this morning and the perfect video popped up to accompany the message of motivation that was on my heart. If you don’t have time to watch the whole thing, I bookmarked it from the part I really want you to hear. Listen from that point for at least 10 minutes in. If you have the time to watch it all, I encourage you to do so. I love Lisa Nichols but she was speaking especially deep to my soul today!

Did you need this encouragement today? What part of the video spoke to you most? Feel free to share in the comments and share with those you think could benefit from this Monday Motivation post.

  1. I completely identify with this post – as a recovering perfectionist I can’t tell you how many times I haven’t done something out of fear of it not being the perfect time, perfect thing… you get the gist. Thank you for sharing your vulnerability and your courage.
