The great thing about being an entrepreneur is that I can make my business look the way I want. It doesn’t have to fit in any box or meet standards I’m not in alignment with. One thing that surprised me as a heart-centered entrepreneur is the sense of conflict I felt in the beginning. When I transitioned from the corporate world to creating a business I loved, I had a different perspective about work. I thought I had to work hard to make money, I wasn’t used to getting paid for things that I was so good at I did them with ease. I was also used to despising work and not looking forward to it. Now that I’m doing what I love, it feels more like an extension of my lifestyle. I’ve managed to identify my gifts and build a business around it. Of course, it comes naturally, it’s what I’m meant to be doing!
I had to work on shifting my perspective about work because I struggled with a sense of guilt. I felt bad charging clients for things that came so easily to me. I realized that what I do comes easily to me but I’m providing a valuable service my clients need! If it were any other way, they would do it themselves or not at all! Once I started to focus on the service I provided, the feeling of guilt faded. I started to feel grateful that I discovered my life’s purpose so that my clients can utilize the services I offer and I can dedicate the rest of my life to doing what I love.
I have never loved my life more than I do now. I’ve been able to incorporate my gifts and talents into my work and integrate my work into my life. Having a heart-centered business works very well for me because I’m able to include my family in what I do. I enrich the lives of my girls and teach them about what I do. As my business grows, it will enable me to do more of what I love and serve more people.
Whether you aspire to own your own business or not, I do encourage you to incorporate your gifts and talents into as many aspects of your life as possible. The more you utilize them the more happiness you’ll cultivate because you’re meant to do those things that come so naturally to you.
What are some of your talents and gifts? Do you incorporate them into your life enough? Feel free to share in the comments!
