Lessons

As a parent, part of our job is to teach our children. Teach them to be responsible, reliable, trustworthy, and kind.  Teach them the ways of the world and how to operate within it. I believe everyone is put into our lives for a reason. We can learn something from each person we cross paths with if we are looking for the lesson they can teach us. I find this to be especially true with our children. Today I’d like to know what lesson your children have taught you about life. Feel free to share in the comments!

I’ll share what mine have taught me. My oldest is one of the most thoughtful and considerate people I’ve met. Her love for people reminds me to give people the benefit of the doubt and be more kind than expected. My toddler is a practical jokester, enjoys getting a rise out of people, and loves to make people laugh. She reminds me to not take myself too seriously, laugh as often as possible, and have fun. Thank goodness for these two little people that are the personification of hope and inspire me to be the best version of myself.

I’d love to know what reminders or lessons your children have given you. Share in the comments so we can all appreciate the wisdom of our next generation.

  1. Mine are all grown up. Now they parent me, making sure I don’t feel too lonely or too sad and that I have the awareness that life changes but they won’t leave me behind. I find myself saying to my husband that we raised good kids. 35 and 32 3/4 and they are our best friends.
