    1. I’m fascinated with this! It’s amazing how my perception has impacted my life. When I was depressed I always had a negative perspective of everything. Now that I’ve trained myself to be objective, and find the lesson learn from it, and take it as a good thing, my life is so much different!

      1. It’s not, but for me it was a necessity! I could have either continued down the path I was on which was very self-destructive or feel the pain and discomfort of change and put a lot of work into it and hope for some great results which is exactly what ended up happening! It’s hard at first, but with diligence it gets easier over time.

In hindsight, I suffered over a long period of time resisting a greater discomfort over a short period of time that lead to a breakthrough. I just had to get that splinter out!

Munch focuses a lot on the negative instead of the positive and his guidance counselor suggested that we ask direct questions such as “tell me 3 good things that happened today”. I need more because he will say nothing good happened. Ugh!

    1. I can relate, my daughter is 8 and I’m working with her on not focusing on the negative aspects (not getting her way…) more than the positive things. I’ll put some thought into this and post about it soon!
