Meet & Greet|Meat & Greet!

Comments are closed as this party has ended. Please check back soon for the next one! I host them every other weekend. Check out the comments section for some great blogs to add to your Reader!

Sorry I couldn’t help myself with the name of this week’s party… We’re having a barbecue! Bring your favorite sides and sauce! I have to admit I can throw down in the kitchen whether it’s inside or out! I’ve got cold drinks in coolers for you to take your pick! Grab a plate and make your way down the table full of food! We’ve got ribs, grilled chicken, shish kebab, burgers, I’m even slow cooking veggies on the grill! I’ll leave the sides up to you because I can’t pull myself away from the grill long enough to check the table full of side dishes!

Thanks for stopping by the party! We are a pretty laid back group, and the only rules are meant to keep the party going! Be sure to mingle! The more you converse with friends old and new alike, the better the chances they’ll stop by your place!

Rules of engagement-

  1. Leave a comment with the side dish you’ve brought to the party. Leave a recipe or just tell us a little about the dish and why you brought it. Have a special sauce? Bring it!

  2. Leave the link to a blogger’s post other than your own!

  3. Leave a link to your own blog

  4. Share, share, share! Please be sure to either reblog or share on your social media platforms! The more bloggers that see this, the more exposure it gets! That means the more people that will stop by, engage in conversation and stop by your blog!

  5. Have fun! The best part of this is making new friends and greeting old ones!

Don’t be shy! If you like something, let them know! If you’ve never tried that dish, check out what’s in it and let them know that you’re thinking of trying it! Visit other blogs and let them know how you found them! Honestly, the more you interact the better your chances of someone stopping by (it shows in my click stats!)

  1. Bocconcini Basil salad, I grew some amazing cinnamon basil in my garden this year and this is from the first harvest! Toss Basil and Mozzerella with Balsamic and I like to add a dab of honey to give it an added sweetness!

  2. I have some delicious tomato, cucumber and feta salad with greek dressing. Yum! I learned how to make it at a “team building” cooking class we did at work and have been dying to try it out. πŸ™‚

I took the day off today to go to a spring with my 13 year old daughter and we are excited! We live in Florida and, in the spirit of anti-alligator-ness, we chose a biiiiig oooopen spring only a couple of hours away. About to get on the road, but before I do….

I have really been enjoying K’s blog at https://free2bme27.wordpress.com/ especially her post on fear…you might like it too. My blog is https://growingtowardthesun.com/ β€”stop in and say hi sometime!

What’s everyone else up to? Have a great Friday!

  3. Hi, Great day for a BBQ, I’ve brought some stuffed red peppers, filled with diced veg and brown rice !
cooked in the oven to seal all the flavour of the veg, while the rice and the pepper cook perfectly, place them in a cooking tray with a little veg stock to keep them moist…….Maybe while you are waiting, pop over to Lynne at https://lynnesRecipeTrails.com and check out some fantastic recipes. Have a great BBQ and call to see me, whenever you wish. https://theutopiauniverse.com

  4. Hi Niki – it’s great to have a BBQ as a meet and greet – although being England it looks like rain! Typical!
I’m a bit unsophisticated when it comes the the BBQ – I like meat and salad and cheese and things and sauces and throw things together that way. I Do like cooking lamb with a little home grown Rosemary though.

My post is one on a writer who is my inspiration for writing my own work – he was way ahead of his time!

I’m posting a link from Esther Newton’s writing challenge. I missed talking to Esther at the bloggers bash and I regret that. Next year I hope!

  5. Hi Niki. Lovely of you to hold another Meet and Greet and a BBQ is an excellent theme. My Dish I brought is just a little appetizer to have with taco chips before dinner. A block of low-fat cream cheese softened and spread in a dish so its’ a half an inch thick. A cup of salsa of your choice. 1.2 cup grated cheese and slice some green onions to put on top 1 or 2 should do it. Than before you serve, heat in the microwave for a minute or two so the cheese on top melts and the cream cheese is warm. Its a very simple but delicious snack.

I”m sharing a link to Sandra’s blog. She writes great poetry and wonderful Friday Fiction. She’s taking the day off today but here is her latest part of her current series. Simply go back to read the first 10 parts. https://whatsandrathinks.com/2016/07/15/fiction-friday-33-secret-admirer/
