I didn’t realize that there was a grand theme reveal. Glad I had this post scheduled and ready to go! As you know, I’m taking part in the 2016 A-Z challenge. The focus of this challenge is to write a post a day with the topic of your choice starting with the letter of the day. I decided to join because I thought it would be a good way to help me attain my goal of posting daily.
I signed up for this back in February right as I finished coming up with weekly prompts for my blog and I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to write daily. So I thought that trying was the best way to see. The timing of the sign up couldn’t have been better so I just did it before I could give it too much thought and ended up talking myself out of it. As if writing a post a day in addition to my regularly scheduled posts wasn’t enough, I wanted to make the most of this challenge and really push myself. Are you ready for this month’s challenge posts?
I’m going to dig deep, both within and around me for the posts. After much deliberation (with myself), I’ve decided to go with a theme. I had a clear idea in mind that I wanted to focus on so all posts will be on emotions.
States of being and feeling, whether passing or lingering. Some posts will be inspired by emotions that I have dealt with and experienced at some point in life. Other posts will be inspired by people I encounter and blogs that I read. I’ll leave it up to you to decide which posts come from within and which posts are inspired from around me (you might be surprised). I’m not going to reveal my source of inspiration because it would spoil the fun and intrigue.
To make this even more complicated for myself, I’m also going to try out different writing styles. From dictionary definitions, to poetry and short stories. I’m all in on this challenge and I’m excited to see where this takes my writing. I won’t necessarily be good at every writing style nor will every post be a success, but I at least want to try my hand at it (pun intended). I hope that you can relate to, laugh at or be moved by a piece at some point. I have 26 tries to make that happen, so let me know if at least one of my posts speaks to you. I’m truly vested in this challenge and hope it will take my writing to another level and that as a reader you will want to come back for more.
A couple of side notes-
- The number listed at the bottom of each post is in reference to my name on the list of bloggers signed up for the challenge. As people drop off or get removed, the number changes. I have used my number on the list at the time the post was scheduled the night before it gets published. The number in this post specifically is my original number at the time I signed up for the challenge.
- On day 1 of the challenge I had 544 followers and averaged about 110 views a day (excluding meet and greet days). I will be writing an after post and one of the things I want to analyze is the traffic and followers attributed to this challenge.
