    1. Me either! I wish I could take the credit for such a great way to meet other bloggers, but I got it from Danny over at Dream Big, Dream Often and Jason at Harsh Reality. I put my own little spin on it with the themes though πŸ˜‰

  1. HI Niki.
In a former post you noted the down side to the “post & run” approach. I agree with you that much of the success of blogging is related to community. That said, life is full, even if simple. I run a small logging company. I’m working on a master of divinity degree with a combination of online & on site learning. Sometimes I find time to write. There may be other readers in the same spot. Post & run is better than nothing, isn’t it? Or not?

    1. If it was on another meet and greet post that you read that, I was referring to people going to meet and greets, leaving a link and not taking a look at anything in the comments section. If I do that, then odds are everyone else in the meet and greet is doing the same. Then we have hundreds of comments and links that no one is reading or clicking. That’s why I try to have a theme to get a conversation going, get people reading, talking and clicking. If the post and run comment was on something other than a meet and greet let me know which post so I can recall what I meant. Not everyone has the time to sit down and blog, I get that which is why I’m pretty sure I was talking about meet and greets πŸ˜‰

      1. Haha I’m glad to know you weren’t being snarky πŸ™‚ I wasn’t sure of the context or the tone when I responded so I tried to tread lightly because I didn’t want to come off the wrong way. If you were guilty of the post and run, I don’t remember, nor were you the only one. That comment wasn’t aimed at anyone specifically, just wanted people to know that’s counter to meet and greets in general and specifically the ones I host.

I approve all comments on meet and greets except ones that have nothing other than a link for their blog. Honestly I put a lot of thought and work into them and they do get results for those that participate, not just on that day, but people go back, and connections are made. So for me it’s a little insulting to not go with the flow because it’s just three sentences to type. Not to say that’s what you did, but when people do that I can’t help but think there are a ton of link parties you can drop and run… I can’t make bloggers read other comments or engage with other bloggers but at least play. I understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I just get sensitive because I wreck my brain coming up with a theme, pictures, and spend the weekend responding to comments and then those few toss a link and leave… Ok my pity party is over! πŸ™‚ I hope you’re able to stop by this week’s meet and greet if you haven’t already πŸ™‚ Have a great weekend!
