Today’s Whatever’s On My Mind Wednesday post is prompted by the series I’m watching. On a side note I am disappointed that it well below my 25 episode minimum, but it came by recommendation via my hubby so I figured I’d give it a try.
As I watch The Last Kingdom, it is painfully obvious that wars were raged, lives were lost, families destroyed. I can’t help but think that the main factors were resources, land, personal gain, and greed. We look back on people from earlier times with an air of superiority, thinking we are better and thankful we live in a better time. In some respects we do. Although at the end of the day, I can’t help but wonder what future generations will think when our history is taught. They will likely be surprised by our technological advancement and laugh that we thought we were so advanced for our time. I have no doubt they will consider us the barbarians though we ourselves may think we are civilized and better than those that came before us.
That’s it, just wanted to key you into my mind’s pondering of the day. What are your thoughts? Do you agree? Disagree? Have you seen the show? It’s no Vikings, but it will do…until tomorrow when I finish all 8 episodes.
